PICTURE 7. Once standing opposite the school Belmont House (later renamed Paddock House) was the earliest of Starbeck's larger houses. Its extensive gardens once stretched from the Grove to Belmont Cottages, The house was demolished in the 1950s to make way for the Police stables and Springwater School.
